Privacy Policy

Last updated November 3, 2026

Lakeshore Utility Company ("Lakeshore Utility", "we") provides water and sewer service. This policy explains what information our website and My Account (online customer account) collect and how we use it.

Information we collect

  • Contact and alert forms: the name, email, phone number, account number and message you enter. These are emailed to our office so we can respond.
  • My Account login: your email address, an encrypted (hashed) password, an optional mobile phone number, and the Lakeshore account number(s) you link. We never see or store your password in readable form.
  • Account information: to show your bills, usage and payments we use the billing records we already keep for your service account. We do not display or store bank account numbers in My Account.
  • Google or Facebook sign-in: if you choose to sign in with Google (or Facebook, when available), we receive your name, email address and a unique account ID from that provider. We use them only to sign you in. We do not receive your password for that service, and we do not post anything or access your contacts.
  • Technical information: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and basic logs (such as IP address and time) used for security and to prevent abuse.

How we use information

We use this information only to provide utility service, show your account online, send bill, account and service notices you request, respond to you, and keep the site secure. We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Sharing

We share information only with service providers that help us run the website, email and online payments (for example our hosting provider and our payment processor PayStar), or when required by law. Online payments are made on PayStar's site under PayStar's privacy policy.

Your choices

You can update your My Account preferences or delete your My Account login at any time. See Data Deletion.
